flowers and opportunities to blossom

I love flowers. I think my deep flower love started when we bought our home, and we could begin planting them in our own yard. There is something wonderful about seeing flowers bloom. Their vibrant colors and unique and beautiful shapes make me happy. Some of my favorite flowers planted around our home include poppies, zennias, and daisies. This afternoon when I got home from work, I was delighted to see my poppies are just beginning to blossom. (I immediately jumped out of my car and snapped an iphone photo to share.)

Here is a yogathought for today I also wanted to share with you about our opportunities to blossom:

"When we're truly honest with ourselves, our problem is not that opportunities for success haven't appeared. God is always expanding our possibilities. We are given plenty of opportunities, but we tend to undermine them. Our conflicted energies sabotage everything. To ask for another relationship, or another job, is not particularly helpful if we're going to show up in the new situtation exactly as we showed up in the last one. Until we're healed of our internal demons, our fearful mental habits, we will turn every situation into the same painful drama as the one before. Everything we do is infused with the energy with which we do it. It we're frantic, life will be frantic. If we're peaceful, life will be peaceful. And so our goal in any situation becomes inner peace. Our internal state determines our experience of our lives; our experiences do not determine our internal state." --A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson

Peace, love, and lots of blossoming flowers!

I planted poppy seeds this year and can't wait to see them in full bloom. I am only aware of orange popppies but someone had mentioned that there are other colors...have you heard of this?

katie diana--I'm not an expert on singing, but the ujjayi breath done in many yoga practices would definitely help with diaphram breathing I believe is used while singing. As for toning the core, many of the yoga postures work the core as you use it to stabilize the body. Some specific postures to check out include boat pose, plank, side plank poses, and supine spinal twist.

Pink Heels--I haven't heard of other colors of poppies. I must say I love the vibrant orange. We planted our poppies a few years ago, and this is the first year they are really doing well (and the rabbits are eating them!).
