rest, retail therapy, & piercing

I slept a good 4+ hours today, and I am feeling better. I'm definitely feeling good about the decision to stay home--as I've written about before, I used to feel guilty about taking sick days when they were actually needed. (I know this sounds a bit silly, and I am pretty much over the guilty feelings I used to have!) My body obviously needed some rest since this cold I have has worn me down. I am definitely looking forward to feeling 100% again!
Other than sleeping, I've just been chilling on the sofa surfing the internet. I discovered a wonderful, creative soul on etsy (treehouse28--check her out! Lots of beautiful, comfy, fun clothing and accessories!) and couldn't help but purchase the funky and fun arm warmers and scarf in the pictures above. Can't wait to get them!
In other news, I got my nose pierced this past weekend. I've actually been wanting to do this for a very, very long time, but hadn't done it for a few different reasons: 1. I'd watched youtube videos on it, and it looked a little scary. 2. I have never loved my nose and wasn't sure I wanted to adorn it with jewelry. However, in the middle of teaching yoga Saturday morning, I got this gut feeling that I should do it that day. So, I did...for multiple reasons: 1. I love jewelry and like the idea of having a cute little stone shining on my face. 2. I decided the little stud would be a symbolic reminder that I can love and accept my nose just as it is! 3. I have a very funky, creative side that I don't feel like I get to express as often as I'd like, and this is one more way to express that side of myself.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!

I did not know you wanted your nose pierced! We must be kindred spirits...I have been contemplating it. How was it?

Yes...I actually wanted to get my nose pierced way back before it's become semi-popular to have it done. Recently, I've really been feeling the urge. It really didn't hurt at all. Calming yoga breaths helped! :)

You are such an inspiration to me. I have wanted to get a specific tattoo for about 5 years now. I've toyed with the idea of getting my nipples pierced and my nose pierced on and off for years, as well. The thing is *I think* I'm a big baby when it comes to pain. I'm really not, of course. I've run marathons, danced classical ballet on pointe, and now practice Bikram yoga - so in reality I'm a bit of a masochist. I think I may have to take the plunge and do my nose first. Thanks for sharing. ;))

I AM getting closer and closer to finally following my many years long wish to colour my hair purple. I keep finding all this inspiration to Just Do It. Thanks for that!

Karmacoy--I say go for the purple! Last summer, I got a few hot pink streaks in my hair. I liked them a lot, but they faded out pretty fast. I think purple streaks in dark hair looks beautiful!

Melita--so glad to have inspired you to go through with getting your nose pierced! It wasn't that bad, huh?

Melita--I'm not on facebook or twitter, yet. I'm thinking I might join them both this summer when I have a little more time on my hands!

I just got my nose done this past Saturday. So far it was even easier than getting an ear pierced cause with the ear you have to be careful not to lay on that side for a while. I am SO glad I did it!!
